LopArt - "My Boat"

Lesson #8 - Details, details, and more details
Lession duration: 45 minutes
Instructor's procedure: Open a Gallery in the LopArt Museum

Note : The aim is to add as many details as possible, works may not be completed in less than 30 minutes.

Boats Ideas : Pirate Boat, Fishing Boat, Sail Boat, Cruise Ship, Canoe…

- Select 2 different blues
- Select one of the half-tone tools
- Set the Transparency to about 1/2
- Select the Water texture (second level of texture)
- Cover the bottom of the page to create the water

- Select a smaller stroke
- Select a color for the boat
- Draw the outline of the boat, then fill it in

- Add details to the boat using different sizes of strokes, different colors and textures :
- Draw windows
- Draw the mast
- Draw sails
- Draw flags
- Draw a deck
- Draw the Captain’s cabin
- Draw passengers
- Write a name on the boat

- Add details to the sea using different sizes of strokes, different colors and textures :
- Draw fish, sharks, dolphins, turtles…
- Draw sand, rocks, see grass…

Draw the sky
- Select 2 tints of orange, red or yelllow (for a sunset)
or
- Select 2 kinds of blue (sunny sky)
or
- Select gray and black (storm or night)
- Select one of the half-tone tools
- Select the Watercolor tool (first level of texture)
- Create the sky

- Select the Wax texture (first level of texture)
- Select the white color
- Set the transparency to 3/4
- Draw clouds

- Select a color to make the sun (orange, red or dark yellow)
- Select the Watercolor texture
- Draw the sun

-Click on the Suitcase icon to save your work
-Click on the Text icon
-Type “My Boat” in the first field
-Type your name in the second field
-Type your class name, grade and school name in the third field
-Click on the OK button

-Click on the Museum icon
-Type the name of the gallery
-Type the password
-Send your work to the LopArt Museum gallery
